    Hi growers.

This is my first time growing in DWC and unaware at the time my water temps went through the roof. Highest recorded was 28 degrees C. Pythium then went out of control and was advised by my local shop to treat with pythoff and then treat with peroxide. My plants went from healthy looking with preflower to stressed as. I keep adding acid as for an unknown reason my PH keeps rising out of control all the way up to 7.8 hours after I corrected the water down to 6.3. Has anybody experienced anything like this.

Two photos are before and two are after the problem was ‘treated’

What temp is your water at? Ideally it should be 65-68 degrees. Might need a chiller. A cheap thing to do for now would be to freeze water bottles to keep your reservoir chilled.

I’d also suggest to get a good ph meter if you dont already. Unfortunately, ph meter, especially with hydroponics, shouldn’t be the cheapest one cause ph makes all the difference. I cheaper out and it had really showed

Also, make sure there aren’t any light leaks either.

Yeah I ended up going the route of a water chiller and insulation on all pipes and tanks. It’s now a stable 19c. Pythium is now a thing of the past. The lasted grow is going swimmingly. As for my ph meter I am using a blue lab auto doser regularly calibrated so should be accurate.
